A listing is how your offering shows up on Happyn, so it's worth getting right. The listing builder is organized into tabs, and which tabs you see depends on your listing type. This guide walks through each one in order.
Work through the tabs across the top. You can save at any time and keep editing later — nothing goes live until you set the status to active.
1. Details
This is the foundation of your listing:
Title— clear and specific, e.g. "Premium Wedding Catering" rather than just "Catering."
Description— describe what's included, what makes you a good fit, and anything buyers should know up front.
Category — pick the category buyers would browse to find you.
Type — service, product, or digital good. This choice changes the rest of the form, so set it first.
Status — Draft while you work, Active to publish, Paused to temporarily hide, or Archived to retire it.
Tags — add keywords that help buyers find your listing in search.
2. Pricing
Start with the basics, then layer on flexibility as needed. (For the reasoning behind Happyn's pricing approach, see Why Unit-Based Pricing.)
Base price & unit type— your price and what it's measured in (per person, per hour, per item, flat fee).
Min / max units — the smallest and largest quantity a buyer can order.
Pricing model — Flat (a fixed price), Per Unit (base price times one pricing unit), or Multi-Unit (up to three pricing units). Note that products always use flat pricing; per-unit and multi-unit are for services.
Add-ons — optional or required extras, priced as a flat fee or per unit.
Selections — choice axes like Color or Size (up to three), each option with its own price adjustment and, if you want, its own volume pricing.
For services, you also get:
Pricing units — the units that drive dynamic pricing (e.g. guest count, hours).
Minimum / maximum charge — a floor and ceiling on the calculated price.
Variance allowance (0–15%) — how much you can adjust the final amount after booking if the job changes.
Deposit — turn this on to collect a percentage up front, with the balance due around the event.
3. Availability (services)
For service listings, tell buyers when you can work:
Availability type — always available, on a set schedule, or custom.
Schedule — the days and hours you accept bookings.
Lead time— the minimum number of days' notice you need before an event.
Rush-order fee— optionally charge extra when a buyer's event falls inside your lead-time window. Set it as a flat amount or a percentage of the order. The fee is shown to the buyer and applied automatically — you keep 100% of it, with no platform commission. See How Disbursements Work for how it's paid out.
4. Logistics
Setup time — how long you need on site before the event begins (services).
Cancellation policy — your terms if a buyer needs to cancel.
Parcel dimensions — for products, the package size and weight. Happyn uses this to generate accurate shipping and return labels, so fill it in carefully.
5. Suggestions
Quantity rules help buyers order the right amount. Set a rule like "suggest 1 unit for every 10 guests," and Happyn will recommend a quantity based on the buyer's event details — making it easier for them to buy with confidence.
6. Media
Strong visuals are one of the biggest drivers of bookings:
Upload images and videos directly, or add them by URL.
Set a primary image— it's the first thing buyers see in search and on your storefront.
Use clear, high-quality photos that show your work in real settings.
7. Digital Files (digital goods)
For digital listings, upload the files buyers will receive. Once an order is placed, Happyn delivers them automatically by email with a secure download link — you don't have to send anything manually.
Publishing
Save as a draft whenever you want to step away — your progress is kept.
When everything looks good, set the status to Active to make the listing visible to buyers.
You can edit a live listing anytime, and switch it to Paused if you need to take a break from bookings.
Tip:A complete listing — a clear title, a thorough description, accurate pricing, and great photos — earns more views and bookings. It's worth spending a few extra minutes before you hit publish.
