A disbursement is a payout from Happyn to your bank account. When a buyer pays for one of your listings, Happyn collects the payment, deducts its fee, and then sends your share to you on a regular schedule. This guide explains exactly when and how that happens.
Happyn uses Stripeto move money securely. Before you can receive any disbursement, you'll need to connect and verify a Stripe payout account during onboarding:
Payouts are paid out to the bank account on file with Stripe. Until onboarding is complete, earnings will accrue but cannot be paid out.
Disbursements run on a bi-weekly cycle, every other Friday. When a sale becomes eligible for payout, it's scheduled for the next disbursement Friday. If a sale lands exactly on a disbursement Friday, it rolls into the following cycle so it isn't caught in a run that's already processing.
Each payout moves through three stages: Scheduled (queued for an upcoming Friday) → Processing (being sent on the disbursement day) → Paid(transferred to your account). If a transfer can't complete, it's marked Failed and our team follows up.
For product and digitalorders, your payout is created as one disbursement, scheduled for the next bi-weekly Friday after the sale. There's no split and nothing extra you need to do — once the disbursement Friday arrives, the funds are on their way.
Service payouts are split into two parts so you receive funds up front while the rest is tied to the work being completed:
Deposit
A portion of your payout — 30% by default, or the deposit percentage you set on the listing — is scheduled for the next bi-weekly Friday, just like a product payout.
Balance
The remaining amount is held until the host confirms the service is complete. Once they do, the balance is scheduled for the next disbursement Friday.
Until the host confirms, the balance shows on your dashboard under Awaiting Buyer Confirmation. This protects everyone: buyers know the bulk of payment follows a job well done, and you have a clear record of what's still pending.
You won't be left waiting — balances auto-release
If a host doesn't confirm, the balance auto-releases 2 days after the event dateand is scheduled for the next disbursement Friday automatically. Your dashboard shows the exact auto-release date next to each balance that's awaiting confirmation, so you always know when to expect it.
Your Dashboard has an Earnings & Disbursements panel where you can see:
If an order is refunded before its disbursement is paid out, that payout is cancelled. For how returns and refunds are handled, see Managing Refunds & Exchanges.
