Why Some Listings Aren't Available for Your Event Date
Some vendors provide services in person — a photographer, a caterer, a DJ. Those vendors can mark days they aren't working, called blackout dates. When your event falls on one of a vendor's blackout dates, their service listings can't be booked for that day. This saves you from reaching out to — or booking — a vendor who was never going to be available.
What you'll see in search
When you have an event date set, service listings from vendors who are off on that date are hidden from your search results automatically. Products and digital goods aren't affected — a blackout date only applies to a vendor's in-person services.
On a vendor's page or a listing
A blacked-out service can still appear on the vendor's storefront and elsewhere on the site, but it will be marked "Not available for your event date."You won't be able to add it to your cart for that event. Choosing a different event date — or a different vendor — makes it bookable again.
If it comes up at checkout
If you add a service to your cart before setting an event date, we check availability once you enter your date and time at checkout. If that date lands on the vendor's blackout day, the item is moved to an Unavailable section:
- It's kept in your cart for reference, so you can see exactly what was affected.
- It's left out of your order total and isn't charged.
- The rest of your cart checks out as normal. To book that service, pick another date or another vendor.
