When an order doesn't work out, what you get back depends on why. Happyn uses a reason-based refund system so the outcome is always fair — if something is the vendor's fault, you're made whole including the service fee. If you change your mind, a small cost is retained. Here's how each scenario works.
If the vendor declines your order, doesn't show up, sends the wrong item, or you receive something defective or damaged, you receive a full make-whole refund:
Refunds typically appear on your card within 5–10 business days.
If you cancel a service booking, you receive your item cost and most of the service fee back — a $10 flat cancellation fee is withheld from the service fee (and never exceeds what you actually paid in fees):
If you cancel within the vendor's cancellation window (typically 48 hours before the event), the cancellation fee still applies. If you cancel close enough to the event that a deposit is forfeited per your booking agreement, that affects the item cost portion separately.
Service cancellation refunds are typically processed immediately.
If you return a product simply because you changed your mind — not because of a defect or error — you receive your item cost, tax, and most of the service fee back. The only amount retained is the Stripe payment processing cost that Happyn cannot recover (~2.9% + $0.30 of the total charged):
Refunds are processed after the vendor receives the returned item and typically appear within 5–10 business days.
You can track refunds in two places:
